Version 2026-09-28
What you can expect from PROfile, and what we expect from you.
Nobody has reviewed this text. It describes how the software actually behaves today, which is the part we can state honestly — governing law, retention periods and liability are missing and need a lawyer. When the reviewed version lands you will be asked to accept it, and this version stays on record as what you agreed to.
PROfile is a platform where freelancers publish evidence of work they have done, and recruiters search it to find people to hire. We are not a party to any engagement you agree with someone you meet here, and we do not employ, represent or vouch for anyone on either side.
This is a prototype under active development. Features change, and data you enter may be affected by changes to the platform while it is in this stage.
You need a working email address, and you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.
You choose at signup whether you are here to do the work or to hire it. That choice decides what you can see: the two sides of the platform show different screens and, underneath, are allowed to read different records.
Reviewer and administrator access is granted by us, never self-selected.
Enforced by user_roles + the RLS policies in 20260807000001.
You keep ownership of everything you upload. You give us permission to store it and to show it to the people you have chosen to show it to — nothing wider than that.
When you submit a case study you confirm the work is yours to show, and that you have permission to name any client you name. If that turns out not to be true we may take it down.
Your PROfile is private until you publish it, and unpublished work is not visible to recruiters. You can unpublish at any time.
Enforced by case_studies ownership confirmation; profiles.is_published.
Some work is checked by a person and some is checked automatically, and the badge always says which. A model may help a reviewer, but a person makes every verification decision.
A verification is a statement about what was checked on a particular day. It is not a guarantee of anyone's future performance.
Enforced by validation_snapshots; the decision field is never set by a model.
Recruiters may send a limited number of contact requests, and a freelancer can decline. Using the platform to send unsolicited advertising, to recruit for something you have misdescribed, or to harass anyone will get the account closed.
Enforced by contact_requests_remaining_today(), capped at 10 per 24 hours.
You can stop using PROfile whenever you like. Ask us and we will delete your account and the records attached to it.
We may suspend an account that is being used to break these terms.
The platform is provided as it is, and while it is a prototype we make no promise about availability. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The governing law, the dispute process and the limits of our liability are exactly the parts a lawyer needs to write, and they are not settled yet. They will appear in a later version of this document, and you will be asked to accept it.
